Finally inked
Just before I turned 25, I decided that I would do the following before my birthday. Get my ear pierced. Dye my hair Get a tattoo I managed the first two but could never decide on what tattoo I wanted. Today, 5 days after I turned 40, I got my first tattoo.
Emf - Children
Ah EMF what a raft of teenage memories rush through me when I hear their songs. This one particularly reminds me of driving fast (but still legally fast) and then when the police sirens kick in, speeding up (while still remaining legal). Heading into the supercontext
The bright lights of the universe were flying past the windows as the man looked out. Here he was falling towards the super context and the worst part was that he did not really know what the super context was. All he did know was that there was one and he was heading towards it. Better Days
I suppose this is a wee bit if a follow on from yesterday. This is not my favourite Springsteen song but the lyrics are spot on in describing how I feel. Life is generally good for me right now and the line “I’m tired of sitting here waiting for my life to begin while it is all just slipping away” is how I’ve been feeling for a while. Things need to start happening for me...

A song full of sadness, regret, pain and loss. Yet it manages to be beautiful in its own way. This song is one of my favourite Cure tracks. From its long intro through Robert Smiths voice intoning the lyrics with meaning and feeling, right through to the ending where hope has seemingly gone but there is something that just lifts you (or at least me) right at the end. Down in the park
I love this track. Dark, moody and full of dread. It still sounds brilliant now as it must have done then (I got into Mr Numans music late). This is a great live version and is my tune for a Friday. Have a great weekend people.
